Ron’s Story
Ron’s drawing career began with a pen, a deadline, and a point of view. Entirely self-taught — no art school, no formal training — he cut his teeth as a political and editorial cartoonist for a popular newspaper in the early 1990s. That work demanded he capture a person’s character in a few confident lines, fast — exactly the instinct that makes a great caricature.
Over 25+ years, that craft grew into something people could gather around. Today Ron draws live at events all over Halifax and Cape Breton, turning a quick sketch into a moment of shared laughter — and a keepsake guests take home and keep.
His process is personal from the first hello. There’s no booking agency in the middle, no template, no AI. Just Ron, a friendly conversation, and an original drawing made for the person in front of him.
